Perceptual 3D Data Analytics Dashboard (.Net Control) - My idea proposal for the Intel® Perceptual Computing Challenge [selected as a finalist]

The Intel® Perceptual Computing SDK is an facinating tool for any innovative developer. Currently I'm participating the Intel® Perceptual Computing Challenge. My idea proposal for the Intel® Perceptual Computing Challenge is to develop a Perceptual 3D Data Analytics Dashboard as a .Net Control.

My Application Idea?

My idea is to develop a three dimensional data analytics dash board control in .Net Framework, which can be rotated,  accessed and manipulated through the Intel Perceptual Computing hands. I'm planning to develop 3D graphs and charts of different kind, which can be rotated and controlled by hands to see and drill down to all levels of axis and legends easily. Voice commands also can be used to rotate and control the dashboard.

The data analytics dashboards will be more easily accessible and manageable by users. The rotatable charts will give more in-depth and detailed visualization and representation of data, which can be easily move around using hands and voice commands.

My Application Demo

See the below illustration to get a better understanding of my idea:

Intended Uses?

All kind of data analytics representations can be done through this control. Intended users are application developers to use these controls in their applications.

Development Approach and Coding?

I am developing it as a .Net control using Microsoft .Net framework 4.5/ C# in VS 2012. I'm also using Chart Controls available in .Net.

eZe DatePicker v 1.0 (Beta) - Code Released

Demo
Finally here it is! The initial release of eZe DatePicker v 1.0. (Beta)
The idea behind this innovative Date Picker is to reduce the clicks to select Month and Year from a date-picker control. In normal date-picker controls, user should click on a link, one way or other, to list the Months and Years. All the months and more years are always listed in this new eZe DatePicker control to select it quickly.

What's New?

In this release Month and Year selection panel added to the left side of the normal Date Picker to give an eZe access to all the months and more years, without an extra click.

What's Next?

I am trying to add this feature to JQuery UI, by contributing it to the official JQuery DatePicker.

There is a lot of room for improvements. So, please give your valuable feedback to improve it.

Download eZe DatePicker v 1.0. (Beta) Here
Demo:

Known Issue: Datepicker jumping up on Year/Month selection in Google Chrome. This is because, it is within an iFrame. This is not a bug of the control. It will be fixed soon.

Thanks for your feedback!
I have incorporated some of the features suggested here. The main one is regarding the year selection.

Innovative DatePicker - Initial Design

The idea behind this innovative Date Picker is to reduce the clicks to select a different Month and Year. There is only a slight change from an ordinary Date Picker design and I think that simple change can do a lot to reduce clicks.

What is new?

Month and Year selection panel added to the left side of the normal Date Picker to give an easy access to all the months and more years, without an extra click.

I am currently working on this. So, please follow this post to see it in action.

Time to act!

I am Paulson George, a Software Engineer from India. By nature I am a "Thinker" and I am always "Thinking" about new Ideas. I always enjoy thinking about something new. Most of those Ideas are there in my mind, not implemented anywhere! In fact, many of them are just New to me. I always find somebody with same thinking frequency doing something similar.

Here I am trying to stop thinking and start acting! At least share my thoughts and innovative ideas, to give it some shape.

By the way, my ideas are NOT limited to any technical field even if I am a technical guy. Ideas will be span across different fields. Anyway, I'll try to categorize them when I move on.

I am expecting your valuable feedback, help and support.

Thank You,
Paulson.
